About this campaign
Koinos Hacks Season 1, formerly known as SOMI Hacks, is the flagship programme of the Koinos platform. It runs in two phases. The #LEARN phase brings applicants together for in-person Saturday sessions through November. The #BUILD phase puts them in teams of two to five for a month of building against three challenge briefs: Borderless Giving, building payment rails that move money across borders instantly and transparently; AI for Community, applying AI to a concrete local problem with grounded answers and clear guardrails; and The Network Layer, building the discovery and trust layer for mission-driven organisations. Teams present at demo day in December, judged on impact, feasibility, technical execution, design and presentation, and the strongest go on to incubation. Your gift covers the venue, learning and build clinics, mentor and judge honoraria, participant stipends, demo day and the prize pool.
